Despite Taking $8 Million Hit From Conor McGregor’s Agency, Manny Pacquiao Offers to Pay Collapsed Boxer’s Medical Expenses

Manny Pacquiao is just built differently. And the Filipino boxing legend has proved it time and again. Even though Pacquiao is going through some difficult times because of the ongoing Paradigm Sports case, the 44-year-old did not even think twice when it came down to offering some financial help to a collapsed boxer.

It is to be noted that Pacquiao has been fighting a case against Paradigm Sports, the same sports management company of which Conor McGregor is also a partner. Recently, even the California court ruled in favor of Paradigm and asked the Filipino boxing legend to pay $8 million. However, even this did not deter Manny’s will to help someone in need. If reports are to be believed, Pacquiao has come forward with a statement that he would bear the medical expenses of the comatose boxer Kenneth Egano.

The 22-year-old collapsed after his boxing bout over the weekend and fell into a coma. He crumpled while waiting for the decision and had to be stretchered out of the arena. The medical experts later diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage. On May 6, Saturday, Egano fought Jason Faculari at the ‘Blow by Blow’ event backed by Manny Pacquiao. The event went down in Imus, Cavite. Egano and Faculari had fought for eight long rounds before the former collapsed in his corner.

Upon hearing the news, Pacquiao communicated via his staff that he would take care of the medical bills. Egano’s family flew in from General Santos City to Cavite after hearing the news. The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) did not find any lapses after their investigation. Therefore, this mishap can only be ruled as unfortunate.

Pacquiao graciously accepted to sponsor the medical bills for the fighter who suffered the injury while fighting at his event. But has the boxer forgotten about his ongoing legal tussle with Conor McGregor and Paradigm Sports?

In a recent statement, Manny Pacquiao said they would seek other legal solutions to the issue with Paradigm Sports. The former senator and his team were not satisfied with the ruling. Therefore, they were not willing to cough up the court-decreed $8 million to Paradigm.

His recent statement said, “While I respect the decision of the jury, I feel that our position on this case was not fully appreciated so I am definitely pursuing other legal remedies so that truth and justice will prevail.” It remains to be seen what direction Pacquiao and his team will take after the unfavorable ruling in California.
